Description
Design and Build
The Moody 336, built in 1994, is a well-proven and highly regarded family cruising yacht. Designed to offer a balance of comfort, safety, and performance, she has established a strong reputation over many years. As a result, the Moody 336 remains a popular choice for private owners.
Cruising Capability
Importantly, the Moody 336 is designed for easy handling and rewarding cruising. She is equally comfortable on coastal passages and longer trips. Consequently, she suits both relaxed family sailing and more ambitious cruising plans.
Engine and Mechanical
This particular Moody 336 is powered by a Volvo D1-30 diesel engine, installed in 2007 and showing approximately 1,200 hours. Notably, this engine offers modern reliability and economical running. Therefore, it is well suited to extended use.
Sails and Deck Equipment
The sail wardrobe has been recently upgraded, which adds real value. The mainsail was replaced in 2023, while the furling genoa was replaced in 2024, both supplied by Penrose. In addition, the yacht benefits from an electric anchor windlass, which makes anchoring simpler and safer.
Interior Layout
Below deck, the Moody 336 offers a well-laid-out and practical interior. Accommodation includes six berths, arranged across two private cabins and a bright central saloon. As a result, the layout works well for families or couples cruising together.
Comfort and Upgrades
Furthermore, onboard comfort has been improved with a number of thoughtful upgrades. These include Eberspächer diesel heating, a Domestic Master Flush toilet, and new saloon windows. Consequently, the interior feels warmer, brighter, and more comfortable in a wide range of conditions.
Condition and Readiness
Overall, this is a carefully maintained and sensibly upgraded example of the Moody 336. Importantly, key systems have already been addressed. As a result, she presents as a yacht that is ready to enjoy with minimal immediate work required.
Location and Viewing
The yacht is currently ashore in Falmouth and is ready for the 2025 sailing season.
