Moody 29 – Juno (1983)
Juno is a well-maintained example of the popular Moody 29, designed by Angus Primrose and built by Marine Projects (Plymouth) Ltd. Known for her solid construction, forgiving sailing characteristics and comfortable accommodation, the Moody 29 remains a highly regarded cruising yacht capable of coastal passages and extended cruising.
Built in 1983 with a GRP solid laminate hull, Juno features the desirable fin keel and tiller steering configuration. She offers accommodation for six berths across two cabins, making her ideal for family cruising or weekend sailing.
The current owners purchased the boat in June 2022 and have undertaken an extensive refurbishment, including replacement of key equipment such as standing and running rigging, upholstery, flooring and interior woodwork detailing. The vessel has been lightly sailed on the Solent and completed a passage to Noss on Dart in June 2024.
Recent structural maintenance includes replacement of all 10 keel bolts along with cutless bearings (February 2025). The hull has also been epoxy coated with SeaJet anti-foul applied.
The boat benefits from a recent Garmin chart-plotter and Tack-tick instruments, updated rigging, and a well-equipped sail wardrobe. Gas is currently not connected.
With her strong sailing pedigree, updated rigging, and practical cruising layout, Juno presents an excellent opportunity for sailors seeking a capable and comfortable cruiser.
